One could be excused for thinking there was swearing going on when he yelled, “OH, YOU HEAVENLY SON OF A NUN!”

Silence hit the terrace.

All 20-odd of us were stunned in to silence right where we were religiously congregated, hovering around the BBQ and busying ourselves with emptying the ample eskies of beverages surrounding us on a hot Australian summer’s day.

But then it became clear…

He was talking about the refreshing, tasty Son of a Nun – Zero alcohol Lager he had just tasted.

He is Matt, a good friend of mine, who had to hit the road that afternoon and was not going to be stupid nor risk life or licence having a few and gettin’ behind the wheel.

And, he definitely didn’t want to just sip soda all afternoon.

Upon his heralding exclaim, I simply had to have one too. And, you know what, if it wasn’t for the print on the front of the can, I wouldn’t have believed it was a zero beer either.

Son of a Nun ‘Zero’ Lager is the creation of family-owned Yenda-based The Australian Beer Company, who also brew a wicked Full Strength Low Carb and Mid-Strength Lager under the Son of a Nun brand. (I’ll talk about those soon)

I love a clean, crisp ale, especially on a hot day or after a long day’s work.

And, with things as they are these days and me not wanting to take chances, being able to down a few icy-cold, great-tasting beers to quench my thirst and not having to worry about being over the limit – is an absolute heaven-sent!

Especially, when you don’t have to compromise on taste in the process.

The SOAN Zero Lager is a crushable liquid amber banging with rich aromas with a subtle hint of citrus and a refreshing taste synonymous with your favourite full-strength lager.
Definitely worth a try!

So, if you ask me, Son of a Nun’s Zero Lager is a perfect brew for anyone at any time, but especially if you want to stay sober.

It also goes great with seafood, salads, just about anything off the barbie, and to wash down a good Parmi or chicken dish.

You can grab hold of this fine drop at any of their over 200 retailers and venues nationally (find the list online) or order it from www.sonofanun.com.au, along with his two more sinful brothers – with alcohol.
